Where To Stay in Bend, Oregon

I’ve spent a few days in Bend, OR and there is always something fun to get up to! I recently spent two days there and I already want to go back! Let me share some of my favorite places and things I did while I was there!

Lodging:

I stayed at the Campfire hotel! This place is so cute and to a theme which we love! When you get there, you immediately feel like you have been transported to summer camp! After checking in I immediately tested the beds, and they were so comfy! The rooms also include a microwave and fridge which is so nice for leftovers or keeping food cold during a road trip! While at the hotel they have an amazing pool and hot tub you can use! During the weekends at night there is a live DJ, and they host pool parties! I got a margarita from the canteen, their onsite bar, and it was so good! They also have bikes and innertubes that you can rent to go enjoy downtown Bend! The hotels’ location was a big plus for my explorations. It was about a five minute drive to an amazing sunset location called Pilot Butte! You can see below I got such a good sunset there! Also just wait till you see all the lights and campfires at night, it was magical!

While in Bend I also wanted to do some exploring outside of the city.  I have never been to Mount Bachelor before, so I headed up to the mountain since it was so close! I had plans to do a new hike that they just put in this summer on the mountain but sadly was rained out! It was still such a pretty place to walk around and enjoy the outdoors! They also had mountain biking which I really wanted to try but sadly my bike was at home! The cool thing about ski resorts is most of the time you can car camp in their parking lots.  Sometimes when I am too low energy to find a dispersed camping site or traveling solo I will do this because it is so easy! Most resorts have free lots but there was a small fee for Mount Bachelor for $20 for the night. The nice part is you had 24 hour access to a bathroom and shower! Definitely recommend it if you are looking for a cool spot to car camp!

While in Bend.

While there I had to explore downtown.  I made sure to check out Bend Brewing because all my friends mentioned it was so good! It did not disappoint. I had an amazing cider and burger and will definitely be visiting again. I also visited a restaurant called Active Culture which had an amazing salad and smoothie! The other place I grabbed coffee was lone pine roasters! It was so good and I can’t recommend enough! I did some shopping while walking around bend and went to cool stores like Smith Rock Records, Ju-bee-lee and Lone Crow Bungalow where just a few that stood out! I also took a walk on Deschutes River trail and made a mental note that I am floating the Deschutes River the next time I come to bend.  I had just returned from a 6 day rafting trip so I was taking a break from the water on this trip!

Other fun things to do near Bend!

I have been to Bend before and if you are here I think one of the coolest things you can miss is going to visit Smith Rock State Park! It isn’t too far of a drive and the hiking there is so cool!! I did Misery ridge loop the last time I was there, and the views were crazy.  I also know that there are some really cool hikes outside of Bend in the sister’s wilderness but they do require permits that I did not have! I guess that just gives me a reason to go back!

Overall it was such a fun trip to Bend and I definitely want to go back and explore more around the area! Do you have any suggestions for things to not miss when visiting Bend?
